I just discovered when I add a reformat effect (16:9 letterbox) to the top track of a sequence, the SYMPHONY adds a small amount of video below 0 IRE.
This shows up on a waveform as a very thin trace that looks like a scaled down mirror of the normal waveform.
In other words, places where the waveform might peak at 50 IRE will have a thin trace at ~-3. Places where the signal hits 100 IRE will have a thin trace at ~-5.
I forgot to look to see if this stuff is on a specific line.
My very inelegant solution is to add another track with a CC.
