I fought in the LAST great format war!
We had MII at NBC in 1987 -- now THAT was a war!
It's true that we lost (or more correctly, a lot of execs lost their jobs), but we fought mighty SONY at the bureaus, in the racks, on the chartered planes.
I love the smell of burning bakelite in the morning
(as the MII power supply burns out).
Smells like...victory (to me)!
[I too am a (former) MII evangalist! I used MII at CNBC from
1991-1992. Awful format, especially for audio.]
