(From Cynopsis)

For the first time in 15 years fewer than half (46%) of Americans say the read a daily newspaper on a regular basis.

[Sad.]

Not sad, just indicative of how far newspapers have fallen in reliability and content.
The New York Times publishes fiction and local papers have writer/reporters who barely passed high school English.
It reminds me of the American auto industry, when they ignored the encroachment of Japanese cars. The arrogant newspaper industry has ignored the internet and failed (as a business) to adapt.
My own reason for not reading newspapers is the ridiculously liberal slant that is applied to everything from major political stories to the home/garden section Todays American newspapers read like a Cold War issue of Pravda.
