AMAZON.COM announced plans to launch a digital music store later this year that will feature "millions" of songs free of DRM copyright protections.
Amazon says it has signed more than 12,000 labels for the service, but didn't specify which labels.
So far London-based EMI is the only major distributor to agree to sell mp3 tracks without DRM protections in a deal struck with APPLE last month.
