New ORVILLE REDENBACHER Ad

A spot featuring a digital re-creation of ORVILLE REDENBACHER (he died in 1995) aired on January 15th, 2007 during the GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS.

It was the first time a digital representation of a deceased individual appeared that could be made to say and do anything.

GARY REDENBACHER, responding to questions about how he felt about the advertisement stated that "Grandpa would go for it. He was a cutting-edge guy. This is a way to honor his legacy."

Check out the ad for yourself here.

[This is just plain creepy. Redenbacher (in the ad) really doesn't really look alive. There's something very wrong with it. The eyes are dead, the mouth looks mechanical, the neck doesn't flex right. Popcorn anyone?]
