(From Sports Business Daily)
In New York, RICHARD SANDOMIR writes moving MNF from ABC to ESPN "was a smooth, if not extraordinary, transition."
And while "no one in the ESPN booth has a big-game presence, it should not have compelled anyone to irately flip off the sound."
But the scorebox, located in the bottom middle of the screen, "is literally on the field and poses an obstruction."
In Chicago, ED SHERMAN writes ESPN analyst
TONY KORNHEISER "showed promise. He had several good lines and openly rooted" for Redskins WR SANTANA MOSS because he has him on his fantasy team.
Kornheiser also "poked fun at" fellow analyst JOE THEISMANN.
On Long Island, NEIL BEST writes Kornheiser "struck the right tone. He came off as a witty, quick-on-his-feet everyman concerned with matters such as fantasy stats rather than as a DENNIS MILLER-esque comedian. And the booth chemistry was surprisingly good."
Best added, "The location of the score box is 'the most distracting scoreboard among the networks.'"
