(From Sports Business Daily)
The music of NFL FILMS composers SAM SPENCE,
TOM HEDDEN and DAVE ROBIDOUX will be featured September 7th in a HOUSTON SYMPHONY program titled GRIDIRON GLORY: SIGHTS AND MUSIC OF THE NFL, sponsored by NFL FILMS and the Texans, according to DAVID BARRON of THE HOUSTON CHRONICLE.
NFL FILMS President STEVE SABOL will narrate the program, which "will mix music and classic NFL FILMS highlights projected on a screen as the orchestra performs."
The idea was conceived by Texans President of Business Operations JAMEY ROOTES and Houston Symphony CEO MATTHEW VAN BESIEN.
Hedden said Texans Owner BOB McNAIR "loved the idea and told them to run with it, and they contacted us. It's no small credit to him for making it happen."
Hedden added that "the mixture of music and film could work in other cities, since several NFL owners are symphony patrons."
