(From The USA Today -- By Michael Hiestand)
On Sunday, ESPN will let DANIEL CARR, a retired corrections officer from CLINTON, MASSACHUSETTS, operate a TV camera from the grandstand during THE BOSTON RED SOX/NEW YORK YANKEES game.
Says Carr, who won a sweepstakes to get the gig -- "I have no idea what this entails. I'm just wondering if I have to hold a camera the whole game. I hope it's not heavy."
THE ESPY AWARDS, which ESPN staged Wednesday in LOS ANGELES, won't air until Sunday (9 pm ET). Highlights of an event whose celebrity gift bag includes coupons for a "treatment to temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite" included host MATTHEW PERRY dropping his pants, SERENA WILLIAMS dancing with the group DESTINY'S CHILD and the NFL's TERRELL OWENS, referring to his famous MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL promotion, telling actress NICOLETTE SHERIDAN, "So this is what you look like with your clothes on."
Sadly, nothing topped the greatest ESPY MOMENT -- Runner EVELYN ASHFORD, getting her 1993 ESPY, said it "meant more" than winning OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALS.
