Named for CARLTON FISK's game-winning home run in GAME 6 of the 1975 WORLD SERIES, FENWAY PARK now has the FISK POLE. Across the field, 302 feet from home plate, the park has long had the PESKY POLE, named for light-hitting shortstop JOHNNY PESKY, who curled home runs around the pole.
That got us thinking -- Where does it stop? Or where could it go? Certainly there are parts of stadiums and fields and parking lots that deserve to be named for other famous -- or infamous -- moments and people in sports history.
Below are a few of our thoughts.
