(From Men's Health Magazine -- By Daniel Amen, MD)
Q: I've noticed I have cyclical mood swings. Is this a kind of male menstrual cycle?
A: Men don't have monthly hormone cycles. Most do experience mild or moderate mood swings, however. FISH OIL, taken daily, has been found to help smooth out smaller attitude speed bumps. But serious mood disorders affect 7% of men. Some have a condition called CYCLOTHMIA, which causes significant changes in mood. And untreated bipolar disorder leads to extremes so severe that they can ruin your life. If your moods impair your ability to work, cause you to be inconsistent with your family, or rob you of joy, try therapy, and possible medication.
[But what if your JOB causes all of the above -- impairs your ability to work, causes inconsistentcy with your family, robs you of joy? Don't reach for the meds or therapy (although FISH OIL is good). Try moving on to a new gig.]
