MILLER Time's Over On CNBC

(From The New York Daily News -- By Richard Huff)

Say goodbye to DENNIS MILLER.

As part of a shakeup in CNBC's prime-time lineup, Miller has been shaken off.

Miller's last show will air tomorrow, according to a memo from CNBC President MARK HOFFMAN sent to staffers Wednesday.

Miller's series, which airs at 9 pm ET, is going to be replaced by an additional telecast of MAD MONEY with JIM CRAMER (currently airing at 7 pm), which will put that show on at 6 pm on the West Coast.

CNBC has one feed of its signal for the entire country, meaning Miller's generally nonbusiness-related banter has aired at 6 pm on the West Coast, right at the end of the business day.

A new 7 pm business program will be added down the road, Hoffman told staffers.

"Dennis is an exceptionally talented comedian with an unmatched wit, and he and his team consistently delivered a very entertaining program," Hoffman said in his memo.

It was also a show that underwent several changes since it launched in a desperate, though essentially fruitless, search for ratings.

Hoffman said when Miller was told of the planned changes he decided to leave now.

Word of Miller's show ending comes just days after Hoffman told the staff that TINA BROWN would leave her weekly series TOPIC A to focus on writing a book about PRINCESS DIANA. Her last telecast is May 29th.
