(From The Hartford Courant -- By Roger Catlin)
The No. 1 network by several measures, including total audience, announced its fall schedule Wednesday with six new series.
But even as CBS leaves a lot of its schedule intact, including the Thursday night roster, the release of its 2005-2006 season plans also means the end for a couple of series with loyal audiences.
JUDING AMY, the drama created by and starring Glastonbury, Connecticut native AMY BRENNEMAN, based on her mother's life as a Connecticut judge, is not on the fall schedule for the first time in seven years. Also dropped is JOAN OF ARCADIA, a hit in its first year that faltered in the second. LISTEN UP and JAG also will not return.
Also gone is 60 MINUTES WEDNESDAY, which won a number of awards but also suffered from a story on President Bush's Vietnam-era service that proved to have faulty sourcing.
