TOSHIBA is trying to resurrect the HD DVD format with a slew of new marketing initiatives and a new wave of price cuts that will drop some players under the $150 threshold.

Toshiba is calling attention to the format's web-enabled network capabilities that deliver additional web-based content to broadband connected HD DVD players.
The company says 30% of HD DVD owners use this feature to access trailers, outtakes and behind-the-scenes content.
