(From Cynopsis)
STEVE JOBS wowed the faithful at MACWORLD when he unveiled the ultra thin MACBOOK AIR.
But 20th CENTURY FOX CEO JIM GIANOPULOS also upped his street cred among the digital crowd when he joined Jobs on stage to discuss a new DVD copy service now available for FOX titles on ITUNES.
The deal will allow customers to copy newly purchased DVDs to their iTunes library.
Jobs also introduced the ITUNES MOVIE RENTAL SERVICE, offering movies from TOUCHSTONE, MIRAMAX, LIONSGATE, FOX, WARNER BROTHERS, WALT DISNEY, PARAMOUNT, UNIVERSAL AND SONY for one time viewing on APPLE computers and devices.
The rental window will open up 30 days after the DVD release, with prices set at $3.99 for new releases, $2.99 for older titles and a $1 surcharge added for movies in HD.
Jobs' annual address caused such a fervor in the Bay area that users overloaded the popular microblogging service TWITTER , which was reportedly down for several hours.
