Is there really that great a difference between art and craft?
Many great craftsmen are truly artists.
Some folks are missing the understanding about art as a performance -- the instincts an editor feels.
Why does a cut "feels" right at a certain point in time?
The impulse to make that cut -- because it feels right -- is the same impulse a musician feels in playing an instrument the way he or she does.
That's probably why many editors were also musicians in a former life.

Oh brother.............could these guys take themselves more seriously? The "feel" being described isn't inherent to the art of television. The "feel" is based on decades of standardized and acceptable conventions we've seen in the medium already. If it was all really "art," wouldn't all edotors be starving?
