(From ShopTalk)
With FOX NEWS CHANNEL dominating cable news and MSNBC suddenly surging, CNN President JONATHAN KLEIN has been frantically trying to stop hemorrhaging younger viewers coveted by advertisers.
First he awkwardly merged PAULA ZAHN's sinking program with graybeard WOLF BLITZER's show for election season.
But that didn't solve the problem, especially among viewers 25 to 54.
So imagine the surprise when the aging cable channel ended up with retirees group AARP as its election night sponsor.
Maybe Klein's new strategy is to shore up viewership among those who can still remember when CNN was fresh and new nearly three decades ago.
