Later, she joked with substitute GOOD DAY NEW YORK co-host TONI SENECAL about where Senecal should physically grab weatherman MIKE WOODS.
A day earlier, Applegate stuffed her mouth with MARSHMALLOW FLUFF.

Call it "NEWS GIRL GONE WILD" -- Applegate never misses the chance for a gag or a double entendre.
Since CHRIS GAILUS left the WNYW-FOX 5 breakfast show, Applegate has been working without a permanent sidekick, and has become the clear focal point.
"Eww, what goes on in the morning with you crazy people?" Senecal said after Applegate flashed a mouthful of goop.
"We eat ketchup is what goes on," Applegate gurgled.
Ever since Gailus split, Applegate has shared the desk with a collection of substitutes, though FOX NEWS' MIKE JERRICK has spent the most time there.
That's okay with reader LARRY D'ANGELO, who emailed this week to say he likes Applegate and Jerrick together.
"Jodi Applegate is looking especially beautiful these days, and she's perky (and quirky) as ever -- they're a great combination," D'Angelo wrote.
Jerrick may not be the right partner for Applegate, though.
They don't have great chemistry, and he has to struggle to boost his giddiness level to match hers.
But there has been a change in Applegate's look. Not that she's ever looked bad [no, sir], but something's different, and better. Others have noticed, too.
A message string at TVSPY.com reads "Jodi Applegate is hot."
A station spokesman attributed Applegate's luminescence to a new set and better lighting.
"It's the whole look," he said. "The lighting has improved tremendously. The whole look has dramatically changed. We're playing in the big leagues."
[Sure, it's the lighting.]
Well, big leagues might be a stretch.
When was the last time a big-leaguer walked off stage with a wastebasket to spit out a mouthful of ketchup?
