New Gear/Old Gear

(From The Avid Yahoo User's Group)

It probably shouldn't surprise us that a MERIDIEN AVID SYMPHONY went for $10,000 at auction.

After all, do a web search for a GVG 300 or even a GVG 4000 -- you can get 'em cheap. A far different situation than their heyday.

I saw a KALIEDOSCOPE control panel (complete with genuine oak side panels) on EBAY for $40! I should have bought it for my desktop at work.

I've actually got 2 fully loaded GVG K-SCOPES that probably cost around a half a million each when they were new that I'm about to put up on EBAY. I bet I'll be lucky to get a couple of grand each. Talk about depreciation.

Yesterday's technical necessity is today's nostalga.
