BABS Grabs For More Cash

(From The Associated Press)

BARBARA WALTERS wriggled out of a $6 million contract with MIRAMAX BOOKS for her memoirs, THE NEW YORK POST reports, and is trying to squeeze more money out of another publisher.

"She is out of her MIRAMAX contract, but I don't discuss my clients' interests," her agent, MORT JANKLOW, said.

The Post says Walters began seeing bigger dollar signs as other celebs won bigger advances -- BILL CLINTON ($12 million), former Federal Reserve Chairman ALAN GREENSPAN
($8.5 million)
and HILLARY CLINTON ($8 million).

The newswoman, 74, is already wealthy, with a $10 million salary from ABC and a half-ownership of THE VIEW.

"She wants money, money, money," said one source,
"as if that wasn't enough."
