SYMPHONY Source Record Monitor Malfuction

(From The Avid Yahoo User's Group)

We switched over from CRTs to flat panel displays on our MERIDIEN SYMPHONY, and during the switchover it appears a display setting was somehow accidentally changed.

Now when a project is loaded in Symphony, the source/record display on the right-hand screen is displaced about an inch-and-a-half to the right. That is, if you look at the source display, there's a 1.5 inch black band on the left, then the left edge of the source video begins. The right edge of the source video intrudes about 1.5 inches into the record display. The record display begins 1.5 inches to the left of where it should and extends off the right edge of the record display.

I've tried trashing MCState, creating new users/projects, etc. Nothing works.

In all other respects the system operates normally -- the NTSC output is fine.

Here's more.

If you drag the source/record display into the left hand monitor, the problem is no longer visible -- the source and record video displays sit in their correct positions (although of course they won't play in that monitor). Drag the source/record window back into its proper place in the right monitor and again its contents is displaced about 1.5" to the right of the window.

This is obviously some weird configuration issue of the Number Nine video card. Unfortunately, I've never seen it before.

Changing the screen resolution of the monitor didn't do anything either.

Anyone seen this one?

[We have!]
