LOST Media

(From The Yahoo Avid User's Group)

Tuesday night as I was watching ACCORDING TO JIM on ABC on TIVO [we love KIMBERLY WILLIAMS-PAISLEY] a promo for Wednesday's episode of LOST came on.

I noticed this immediately, so I went back and played it again with TiVo's slow playback.

Lost Media

LOL. See what happens when you rush through your sessions and don't pay close attention when outputting?
[I'm only laughing because I didn't cut it, ha.]

I can see it now -- producers requesting the cool MEDIA OFFLINE effect they saw on the LOST promo!
Cutting edge stuff!

I guess the editor wanted MEDIA OFFLINE instead of the sequence of numbers, but the producers won out, so this is his revenge.

I bet there are people out there right now discussing the hidden meaning of that mysterious, subliminal message -- MEDIA OFFLINE -- in the promo.
[Beers?]

This proves again, the need for solid veteran editors on productions.

Anybody who uses a computer is an online editor.
Anybody who uses Microsoft Word is a writer.
Anybody who uses a DV Camera is a film-maker.
Anybody who uses a microphone is an audio person.
Anybody who uses Pro Tools is a mixer.

I worked with ANYBODY on my last project.

They were real good getting the mic in the frame.
They said the dialog sounded better close up.

They were real good lighting interviews.
They said the available light in the room gave it a "natural" look.

They were real good shooting footage.
They said a tripod restricted them, besides they could zoom in and out to capture the action.

They were real good writing a script.
They decided to go by feel in the edit room.

They were real good in editing together a rough cut.
They layed all their footage on the timeline and added bars and tone at the top.

G'd day RLabay. Well, that's an interesting blog. Useful too, although I was actually searching for Los Angeles used exotic cars because I'm a bit of a fanatic for Los Angeles used exotic cars. SO not quite my bag, as they say. Cheers.
