(From The USA Today -- By Michael Hiestand)
GOOD NEWS
ESPN2 got Monday's TENNESSEE/LSU football game, originally scheduled for Saturday, and drew 3.1% of U.S. cable TV households. It was ESPN2's second highest-rated event, trailing a 2003 MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL playoff game rating.
BAD NEWS
MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (MNF) on ABC drew just 8.8% of U.S. TV households -- down 32% from a WASHINGTON REDSKINS/DALLAS COWBOYS game in that slot last year.
Still, DISNEY's benefits go beyond ratings. Oscar-winning actress GEENA DAVIS was in the MNF booth for a full-blown hypefest for COMMANDER IN CHIEF, a new ABC prime-time series that stars Davis. AL MICHAELS seemed impressed, thanking "TINA" for stopping by.
