PG-13 Bachelor Parties

(From The Hartford Courant -- By Kenneth Partridge)

Residing somewhere in the red-light district of the popular imagination, bachelor parties are typically thought of as debauched, VIKING-LIKE affairs. Alcohol, scantily clad women, more alcohol -- these spell the last hurrah for many soon-to-be husbands, prepping them for lives of domesticity with one final night of decadence.

To plan a party of this kind -- call it the traditional approach -- one need not look any further than notices for "adult entertainment" online or in the local alternative weekly.

What if the groom isn't into strippers, though?

Worse yet, what if he doesn't drink?

Does a bachelor party lose its meaning when it doesn't involve pasties and gross mistreatment of the liver?
