BLACKIE'S -- A Local Tradition To Relish

What BLACKIE'S HOT DOG STAND co-owner LARA WILLIAMS calls the "place that time forgot" was not forgotten by ESQUIRE MAGAZINE.

The 2200 Waterbury Road institution -- famous for its relish with a closely guarded family recipe -- was included in the magazine's list of 27 best restaurants for men.

Williams said men like it because it's consistent, people like their hot dogs the same way and there's a sense of nostalgia about it.

"You can feed a family of four for 20 bucks," she said. "Where else can you get that?"
