Can You Sharpen That Blurry Picture? -- NASA Can

NASA actually has image enhancement software and techniques that can remove blur and out of focus -- as long as the amount of error is known or can be approximated.

It was used on the HUBBLE pictures before the scope was fixed with corrective optics and they routinely use it for fly by shots from mission vehicles like VOYAGER.

Technology was also used to clear up old Soviet Venera mission footage.

Visar has also been around for years.

So, it is entirely possible on a shot by shot basis "blur" may be removed by NASA, but the technology is improving all the time.

[So the next time a producer asks you to sharpen a blurry shot, you can forward them on to NASA.]
