ESPN's MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (MNF) coverage of Vikings/Packers, the first game of a doubleheader, drew a 9.3 cable rating and averaged 12.5 million viewers, up 8.1% and 12.8%, respectively, over an 8.6 cable rating and 11.1 million average viewers for last year's Ravens-Bengals opener.
The game marks the largest audience for any cable program in 2008 to date.
ESPN's coverage of the Broncos/Raiders MNF nightcap earned a 7.3 cable rating and averaged 9.7 million viewers, up 5.8% and 13.7%, respectively, over a 6.9 and 8.5 million average viewers for last year's comparative Cardinals/49ers game.
Broncos/Raiders currently stands as the second-largest cable TV audience this year.
Meanwhile, NFL content on ESPN.COM generated more than 13.3 million visits and 94.2 million page views from Monday through Tuesday at noon ET, and NFL-related video on ESPN.com received 4 million views in that time.
