According to NIELSEN MEDIA RESEARCH, the 16-day coverage (through August 23rd) of the 2008 BEIJING OLYMPIC GAMES by NBC UNIVERSAL reached 211 million viewers and has become the most viewed event in U.S. television history.
This total viewer number surpasses the 1996 ATLANTA OLYMPIC GAMES when 209 million viewers tuned in over 17 days.
Updated numbers to include yesterday's viewership, the final day of the Olympics, will be included in tomorrow.
