(From Sports Business Daily)
INSIDE THE NFL will air on SHOWTIME beginning with the 2008 season.
The show, which will be co-produced by CBS SPORTS and NFL FILMS, will premiere on September 10th at 9 pm ET and air every Wednesday until the week after SUPER BOWL XLIII.
HBO dropped the show following the 2007 seasons after 31 years.
While on-air talent is not expected to be announced until July, hosts are "likely to include at least one person from CBS Sports."
Other hosts "could come from other networks."
NBC's BOB COSTAS and CRIS COLLINSWORTH worked for the show while it was on HBO, but neither is "expected to return."
The Showtime deal was "made possible by CBS SPORTS' long relationship with the NFL" and by CBS News and Sports President SEAN McMANUS and Showtime executives.
Showtime Networks Chair And CEO MATTHEW BLANK said INSIDE THE NFL will be a "perfect fit with our original scripted series and sports programming."
