To help analog TV viewers understand the impact of the DTV switch -- and the need to prepare for it -- KVBC-TV in Las Vegas on Friday briefly switched its station digital during each of its seven newscasts.
Viewers who saw static were given instructions on where to seek DTV answers, while those whose picture remained intact were told they are ready for the transition.
"The best way to get the attention of people who are watching analog is, well, pull it out for a second," said LISA HOWFIELD, KVBC General Manager. "It grabs your attention."
