Young Editor's Knowledge

There's a whole generation of young editors out there who have never seen a switcher, a DVE or a linear edit controller.

At the AUSTRALIAN FILM SCHOOL, the instructors have taken to pulling out pieces of workprint to show to students because they had no concrete experience or knowledge of what a FRAME was.

FRAME was just a word.

They had no idea where it came from.

I wonder what else we assume editors know and understand.
