Thief Steals Reporter's Microphone On Live TV

A surprising theft occurred at an APPLE COMPUTER store in New York City on Friday as the company released its new IPHONE.

But the target was not one of the new gadgets -- it was a reporter's microphone during a live report of the event.

FOX NEWS CHANNEL was covering the release of the iPhone on Friday morning and was broadcasting a live report at a store in downtown New York City.

Reporter LAURA INGLE was in the middle of an interview with an iPhone customer when a man suddenly appeared and grabbed her microphone.

The microphone bandit then tried to run away but was apprehended by members of the news crew and bystanders.

It is unclear why the man tried to steal the microphone.

Just moments earlier, Ingle had said during the live report, "I don't want to create a mob scene -- we're going to need some security around here, probably."

No one was injured.
