False Alarm, Toto

(From Newsblues.com)

WFSB-3 (CBS) in Hartford (Market #28) got snookered last week by a man who sent the station a photo of a Kansas-size tornado that he claimed had been shot on his father's farm in Connecticut.

The station featured the photograph in its Thursday coverage of severe thunderstorms which were thought to have included a tornado touching down in Connecticut.

In fact, they later discovered, the picture had actually been shot in Kansas more than two years ago.

The station apologized and gave the man's name to the FBI.

False Alarm, Toto

Tim Harmon, thanks for the post.
