Head Of The PAC

(From The Hartford Courant -- By William Weir)

Tuesday afternoon, THE SUPPER CLUB in New York City was like THE VALHALLA of PAC-MAN.

Besides the fact that the game's creator, TORU IWATANI, was on hand, 10 of the world's best players had gathered to compete in the first ever XBOX 360 PAC-MAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

Many of the players were well known among Pac-Man intelligentsia, but it was CARLOS DANIEL BORREGO, virtually unheard of outside his circle of gaming fanatics back home in Pachuca, Mexico, who emerged as the victor.

His first-prize take?

One free sandwich a week from QUIZNOS for 26 years -- a sweet deal if your town has a QUIZNOS.

Pachuca doesn't, however, but that didn't seem to bother Borrego, who basked in the glory of his victory.

Media folks lined up to interview him, and he did two segments for MTV.
