(From The Associated Press)
The downtown studios of WFSB-TV were evacuated Friday afternoon after a sewage line break in the basement.
Employees left the building around 3 pm and set up a temporary studio at the offices of CONNECTICUT PUBLIC TELEVISION (CPTV) on Asylum Avenue.
Viewers turning in to the Channel 3 news at 5 pm were given brief news updates at the top and bottom of the hour, News Director DANA NEVES said.
The rest of the time the station aired OPRAH and DR. PHIL shows.
But the brief news updates were unavailable to some cable customers, who saw instead, a dark screen.
Neves said she unsure when they could return to their studio.
Power had been cut off to their building and utility crews had to pump out the sewage.
Tim Harmon, thanks for the post.
