NASA Considers Adding "Undo" Button To Control Room Keyboards

If you've been messing with computers for a while, especially in earlier years, you may well have run into the phenomenon of DEATH BY UPGRADE -- the process by which an innocent attempt to improve hardware or software goes desperately wrong, rendering the system unusable.

According to a preliminary NASA investigation, that's apparently what happened to the good and faithful MARS GLOBAL SURVEYOR SPACECRAFT, which abruptly fell silent last year after a decade of meticulously mapping the Red Planet.

Somehow, "Oops" just doesn't seem to cover it any longer.
