TV Stations Pirating Movies, Says Official Chinese News Agency

(From IMDB)

Add Chinese television stations to the list of pirates operating in mainland China.

THE CHINESE MOVIE COPYRIGHT ASSOCIATION claimed on Sunday that TV stations air up to 1,500 pirated movies a year, resulting in losses of some $9.4 million.

MENG YU, the association's legal director, told XINHUA NEWS AGENCY, "The number of movies illegally aired is startling, more than 100 in the first six months of the year."

Kraig Bailey, thanks for the post.
