(From The Ithaca Journal)
It's a mad, mad world when high technology replaces Mom (sort of). But it's happening at ITHACA COLLEGE, where a month's laundry may no longer be a reason for a weekend at home.
How come?
Enter super hero high-tech LAUNDRYVIEW.
Having made the Herculean decision to do four loads of laundry (two if you don't separate), help is just a click away.
Students can do a lot from their rooms.
They just go on the web to LaundryView, click on any of the laundry rooms at Ithaca College to see how many washers and dryers are empty.
A jiggling, dancing icon means a machine is in use.
Once the laundry is in, students can click to see its progress. They may see a message that says "est. time remaining 6 min," or "cycle complete 60 minutes ago."
Time flies, so if that's not enough, students can request an email alert when the laundry is done.
For more, check out LaundryView.com.
Tom Gerstel, thanks for the post.
[If we had this ten years ago, maybe I would have gotten a computer. Too bad the Internet wasn't really around back then.]
