Boston has been booted out of the country's top five television markets, dropping two spots to No. 7, and ad executives say it could hurt the Boston media's national advertising business.
After two much-touted years at No. 5, Boston was bumped from the spot by San Francisco, where the number of homes with televisions grew by nearly 28,000, according to new NIELSEN MEDIA RESEARCH figures.
Boston lost 3,280 TV homes.
Local TV news execs aren't too happy about seventh place.

[Face it. NYC is #1. Boston blows (#7). Not only did they fall out of the Top 5, but down two spots to #7. Are we really talking about media markets here or how many games back the Red Sox are from the Yankees?]
