(From The Boston Herald -- By Jeff Horrigan)
Telephone calls and emails from the highest ranks of the baseball and music worlds flooded the press box at FENWAY PARK last night, as word filtered out that PETER GAMMONS had been stricken by a brain aneurysm earlier in the day.
The revered ESPN baseball analyst, who lives in Brookline, underwent extensive surgery last night at a Boston-area hospital after he suffered an aneurysm while on Cape Cod, where he was discovered in his car by a passer-by.
He was rushed to Falmouth Hospital, then on to a Hub hospital via MedFlight.
Gammons, 61, reportedly was resting in intensive care following the operation.
He was expected to be kept in the ICU for at least the next week.
