In NEW YORK, ANDREW MARCHAND cites sources as saying that ESPN -- which this week announced a new announcer line-up for SPORTSCENTER -- originally planned to have FRED HICKMAN co-host the 11 pm ET edition of the show, but he was "just diagnosed with A HEART CONDITION."
Hickman instead will co-host the 6 pm edition with DAN PATRICK, "allowing Hickman A MORE NORMAL LIFESTYLE."
Hickman, who had been off the air recently dealing with his health, has returned to SPORTSCENTER and is "expected to work A FULL SCHEDULE OF 250 SHOWS over the next 12 MONTHS."
