Night Shift -- GLOBES Trot To Monday

(From The Hollywood Reporter)

ABC's DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES has driven THE GOLDEN GLOBES from their traditional spot on SUNDAY NIGHT.

THE 63RD ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS will now air on
Monday, January 16th, a day later than planned, THE HOLLYWOOD FOREIGN PRESS ASSOCIATION (HFPA) said.

HFPA President PHILIP BERK said the move was requested by NBC, whose GLOBES BROADCAST this year was pummeled in the ratings department.

While GLOBE VOTERS were toasting DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, which won BEST COMEDY SERIES, the hit show (EVA LONGORIA, TERI HATCHER, FELICITY HUFFMAN, MARCIA CROSS) was helping to drive THE GLOBES' RATINGS to their LOWEST VIEWERSHIP since the ceremony began airing on NBC in 1996.

The move shifts the show to the date on which THE MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. HOLIDAY will be celebrated.
