Doppler Dud

(From Newsblues)

MINNEAPOLIS' HUBBARD-OWNED KSTP-5-ABC, has sued the manufacturer of its million dollar ONE-MEGAWATT C-BAND DOPPLER SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM.

KSTP General Manager ROB HUBBARD says the once-ballyhooed system is A DUD and has MALFUNCTIONED SEVERAL TIMES THIS SUMMER. He is asking that ENTERPRISE ELECTRONICS CORPORATION of ALABAMA refund nearly $500,000 and pay $75,000 in DAMAGES.

Meantime, not to worry, says Hubbard. "We have a back-up system that's as good as anyone's in town."

[Back up system? Sure, you do. Welcome to THE TOP FIVE REASONS YOU CAN'T BLAME your LOCAL WEATHERMAN (BRAD FIELD, WVIT-30) for getting the snow forecast hellaciously wrong every night. REASON ONE -- YOUR DOPPLER SUCKS.]

Tim Harmon, thanks for the post and comment.
