BETH, They Hear You Calling

(From Sports Business Daily)

THE USA TODAY's MICHAEL HIESTAND writes ESPN's BETH MOWINS
"will become THE SECOND WOMAN TO REGULARLY CALL FOOTBALL ON NATIONAL TELEVISION when she works WAC GAMES this fall on ESPNU."

ESPN's PAM WARD began calling COLLEGE FOOTBALL on ESPN2 in 2000.

Mowins, who has called various sports for ESPN since 1994, including MEN'S BASKETBALL, said of her GENDER, "I don't recall ever watching a game to hear announcers. So I don't think most fans care much one way or the other."
