(From The USA Today)
For the first time since GALLUP started asking AMERICANS about their alcoholic-beverage preferences, WINE (39%) beat out BEER (36%). It also defeated LIQUOR (21%).
The change is being driven by men under age 50, who this year preferred beer to wine by a 29-point margin (54% beer to 25% wine) as opposed to a 55-point margin (67% beer to 12% wine) five years ago.
