Movie legend SIR MICHAEL CAINE fears the height difference between TOM CRUISE and KATIE HOLMES is a bigger threat to their much publicized relationship than their 17 year age gap.
The ALFIE star is concerned Tom's relationships with taller women are doomed, pointing out that Cruise acrimoniously divorced tall MOULIN ROUGE star NICOLE KIDMAN in 2000. But Caine -- who met Holmes on the set of summer blockbuster BATMAN BEGINS -- is impressed by how confident the former DAWSON'S CREEK star has become since the romance began.
"I remember Katie as a quiet little girl who wouldn't say boo to a goose. Obviously some metamorphosis has gone on there," Caine said. "I keep hearing she is going to be the next MRS. TOM CRUISE -- she's a bit on the tall side."
