FOX Earns 8.1/14 Rating For ALL-STAR GAME, Lowest Since 1970

FOX earned an 8.1/14 FINAL NIELSEN RATING for THE MLB ALL-STAR GAME Tuesday night, down 8.0% from a 8.8/15 in 2004 and down 14.7% from a 9.5/17 in 2003. The game drew 29.5 million viewers, down 10.1% from 32.8 million in 2004, but ranked as the top program of the night among households and every significant demographic.

ST. LOUIS was the top-rated market for the third straight year with a 23.3/34, up 24% from an 18.8/28 in 2004. Host city DETROIT earned a 22.5/33, a 58% increase over HOUSTON's home-market rating last year (14.2/21). BOSTON ranked third with a 19.5/33, up 54% from a 12.7/23 in 2004.

A THREE-DECADE LOW for the second consecutive year, scoring THE LOWEST RATINGS SINCE 1970, when the game first aired in PRIMETIME. The 4.3/13 among adults 18-49, below the 5.0/15 earned in that demographic last year.
