Move over NOMAR GARCIAPARRA and MIA HAMM, because there's new celebrity couple in the sports world -- CARL EDWARDS and swimmer AMANDA BEARD.
Edwards, recently named one of PEOPLE's 50 HOTTEST BACHELORS, met Beard through a mutual friend. She has accompanied him to several recent races.
Beard, winner of four Olympic medals, including a GOLD in the 400-meter medley relay in ATLANTA in 1996, also has a modeling career.
Edwards says he might get recognized more often when the two are at the racetrack, but she does almost everywhere else. "She's definitely more famous than I am," he says.
