(From The USA Today -- Sal Ruibal)
LANCE ARMSTRONG was injured Wednesday in a training accident, but the six-time TOUR DE FRANCE winner said his minor injuries wouldn't affect his run at a SEVENTH victory.
The 33-year old TEXAN told THE USA TODAY on Saturday that the front wheel of his bike hit the lip of a raised section of road near NICE, FRANCE, causing his handlebars to twist, tossing him to the pavement.
"I got a cut on my head and a shiner on my eye," he said. "I have some road rash (skin abrasions), but it hasn't affected my ability to pedal the bike. My helmet and glasses prevented any serious damage."
The 2005 TOUR begins Saturday in FROMENTINE and ends July 24th in PARIS.
