(From The Hartford Courant -- By Greg Morago)
The TV commercial for SONIC DRIVE-IN has my mouth watering for tater tots covered with chili and cheese, a SUPERSONIC BURGER and a cherry limeade. Only problem is there's no SONIC in Connecticut.
Last week, THE TODAY SHOW's KATIE COURIC talked about fast food and showed a picture of the juicy MONSTER THICKBURGER, a 1,420-calorie whopper from HARDEE's. Again there's a problem -- Connecticut is bereft of HARDEE's.
One of the disheartening things about the NUTMEG STATE (yes, Connecticut is the Nutmeg State) is its lack of fast-food options. Other states have a variety of great burger, taco/burrito and chicken franchises.
I'm not advocating a fast-food lifestyle (anyone who saw SUPER SIZE ME or is familiar with our national obesity problem knows that fast food can easily be seen as a dietary culprit). But it would be nice to chomp into a WHATABURGER or a CHICK-FIL-A once in a while.
