In the quest to make the IPOD as popular for video as it is for listening to music, APPLE is looking to cut the cost of basic video downloads in half to 99 cents for most TV shows, according to a report in VARIETY.
Studios such as NBC UNIVERSAL, which refused to renew its contract with iTunes, are fighting such discounting, however, worried it will adversely affect the sales of DVD boxed sets.
A tiered pricing model may be what both sides can agree upon.
